Country music good for the soul

Up until recently I believed myself to be a connoisseur of all genres of music (except rap and country). Recently, my perspective on the matter has changed dramatically. The last few days, I have been listening to nothing but country music, about 12-15 hours a day since I don’t really watch television. I feel a whole new world has opened and broadened my horizon. I am learning about great songs from great artists. This is a result of someone very special to me who has returned to my life and I couldn’t be happier for what the future holds (you know who you are ❤ ). I am forever grateful for her and have a lot of making up to do, but we have nothing but time.

We have been exchanging songs back and forth that we both feel reflect our situation and songs that mirror our feelings. One of these songs, is What Ifs by Kane Brown ft Lauren Alaina which is very poignant and to the point. Another one of my recent favorites, thanks to her for sharing with me, is The Fighter by Keith Urban ft Carrie Underwood.

Besides the great music, my mood and behavior has changed dramatically. I have been in a better mood, motivated and have a positive attitude and not depressed. I close on my house in 6 days, and despite all the stress of packing and waiting on the underwriters final decision, I really don’t care and have not let it bother me. It’s all in God’s hands now. Albeit its only been a few days, I will take these good days over bad ones.

Keeping head up,

Mike

P.S.

Just so happens as I’m about to hit “publish”, The Fighter by Keith Urban ft Carrie Underwood comes on radio. Coincidence?
